Targeting business opportunities in the German wood processing industry “Taiwan Woodworking Machine Demonstration Platform” showcases key solution for the industry
As we enter the post-pandemic era, Taiwanese exporters are actively embracing this wave of digital marketing. In order to assist the integration of industry resources and maximize the benefit of advertising and marketing, the Precision Machinery Research & Development Center under the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA launched a designated one-stop integrated portal ‘The Key Woodworking Solution in Taiwan’( http://woodworking.twmt.tw ) to overcome physical boundaries with a focus on key industries for wood processing in Germany by demonstrating the strength of Taiwan's smart machinery industry in processing machinery and cutting tools.
The annual import value of German woodworking machinery exceeds 440 million U.S. dollars. In the first half of 2021, Taiwan's woodworking machinery exports increased by 38% compared with the previous year, showing an outstanding performance. To consolidate the bilateral trade relationship between Taiwan and Germany in the woodworking machinery industry, the Precision Machinery Research & Development Center constructed ‘The Key Woodworking Solution in Taiwan’ one-stop integrated portal. The portal incorporates the Taiwan Industry Online Virtual Pavilion and provides a list of recommended high-quality manufacturers covering 7 major types of machinery and cutting tools manufacturers: saw cutting, sanding, sheets cutting, edge banding, facing, CNC processing machines and cutting tools; machinery required for production line such as band sawing machine (Blue Steel Machinery Co.), multi-blade saw, cut-off saw (Kuang Yung), finger jointer machine (Cheng Kuang Wood Machinery Works Co., Ltd.), wood board joining machine (KTCC Woodworking Machinery), moulder (LEADERMAC Machinery Co., Ltd.), CNC processing machines (Campro) and etc, all together showcases key wood processing solutions from Taiwan.
Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau (VDMA) predicted in April that the German machinery industry will grow by 7% in 2021. According to the German government’s "National Industrial Strategy 2030" and the‘AI Made in Germany strategy’ released in December last year, smart manufacturing will become the mainstream trend of the German market in the future, and it is a new smart manufacturing business opportunity that Taiwanese manufacturers should not miss.
The ‘Key Woodworking Solution in Taiwan’ acts as the portal to Taiwan's woodworking machinery industry. It not only integrates the sales capacity of the industry, but also attracts buyers' attention with multimedia materials such as graphics, short videos, etc. At the same time, this portal was launched to take advantage of the forthcoming LIGNA Hannover 2021 by reinforcing the digital exposure in the local market. It is anticipated that this portal will help overcome the difficulties brought about by the pandemic and create more online matching opportunities for Taiwanese woodworking machinery and tool manufacturers with German professional buyers.
